Happy New Year everyone!  Well, at least it will be here in Michigan in about half an hour!  I have been spending these last few days at my sister and brother-in-laws' home celebrating Christmas and the New Year.  It has been wonderful to get away from school for the past week and a half and enjoy a relaxing break without having to work.  This school year has been fairly stressful.  I am working a little over 30 hours a week during the school year on top of 18 or so credit hours.  I have been really busy, not to mention I came off of a hard summer and so school, relationships, and life in general has been really difficult.  Well, at least the comfort of being away from school has made this holiday season all the more enjoyable!

Although, trying to get home was a bit of a difficulty!  The day I was supposed to head home, my train was cancelled because of bad weather.  So my friend Ben came and picked me up at the train station and I spent the night at his house.  The next day I did manage to get to the train (although the train attendants told me it was cancelled again!) but the train was over six hours late!!  But it was all right in the end because I had a sleeper and just slept through the night, ate breakfast, and took a shower before we pulled into Fargo's station at noon.

Once home, I enjoyed the free time of no work and studying for rest and relaxation.  Christmas Eve brought about our family's annual Christmas Eve buffet, which felt considerably small as only my Dad, Mom, Grandma, little sister, and little brother were there.  Yes, that may seem like a lot of people to some, but to my family, which generally consists of about 15 people, it was small!  Then on Christmas morning I went with my dad and played for his Christmas services.  The one memorable event from that morning was my dad starting the advent wreath on fire!  It cracked me up!  Then on Christmas we ate dinner with the same people as Christmas Eve with the addition of our family friend Marlene.  The my older brother and his wife came over and we opened gifts.  My best present was my printer.

Well, we traveled for Michigan after we sent my little brother and sister off to Florida with the high school band.  We had another Christmas with my niece and nephew and sister and her husband.  We have simply been enjoying the time spent together.  Tonight (New Year's Ever) we have been playing games of Christmas trivia and enjoying champagne (yes, including me!).  My brother-in-law Dave has been particularly fun to play with!  Tomorrow we are anticipating the arrival of Santa and our family tradition of Ho-Ho's, which have become a lot of fun since my niece and nephew were born!  They bring the fantasy alive again!

The rest of break I hope to enjoy with friends while my family is working or at school.  I hope to see you all if I am able to.  Seeing as how the New Year is about to begin, I am going to head out, but I send my love to everyone and hope that you are all enjoying your break!  Love Heidi!

Hey everyone!  So I decided that it was high-time that I updated this site, especially since some people refuse to get facebook!  Anyways, school is school.  My classes are not that bad.  I am taking Math for Educators 125 (which I had a test in today, but think that I did well on), History 352 (Dr. Maas is the coolest!), Education 225 (such an interesting class:  child development and psychology), and English 101 (which I like to call "Hebrew choir, which I will explain why in a little bit.

My schedule is pretty crazy and doesn't leave much room fo rmyself.  Here is kinda what it looks like.

Mon./Wed./Fri Schedule:   Babysit from 8:00am-9:15am (the girls are really sweet and behave really well so I love this job!), History class from 9:15am-10:20am, then on to chapel from 10:30am-11:15am, then on to lunch where I eat (imagine that!) and I have about a half hour break.  At 12:45pm-1:50pm it is on to math for educators with Dr. Perchiante, who is pretty much the funniest man ever.  Then from 2:00pm-3:05pm I have English, which I have happily dubbed "Hebrew choir."  The course is really pretty fun because my prof is soo stinkin amazing!  We sing songs in Hebrew in that class!  What's not to love!  Anyway, then from 3:05pm-6:00pm it is on to nannying for the Starks.  For the most part, I really enjoy hanging out with Ally and Sam, but they do have their moments.  The past couple days had been really not so great, but then today they were amazing and we had a lot of fun so that was good.  Ally is a third grader and very into fashion and Sam is a first grader and in Tae Kwon Do, which is nice because I take him and now I am learning some pretty sweet moves, like a roundhouse kick!  Don't worry Linn, I am prefecting them so that I can use them when I get home!  LOL!

Tues./Thurs. Schedule:  9:00am-10:30am Teacher Aide at Emerson Elementary School,  I just started this week but I really love it.  My teacher that I work under is amazing and the students are absolutely adorable!  The from 11:15am-1:05pm I have Education 225, which is really fun and the prof is super great!  Then I quick eat lunch before heading to nanny from 2:00pm-6:00pm.  I go an hour early on Tuesday and Thursday to do some laundry and clean a little and then I watch some TV while I clean so it is really nice.

That is basically all that I do though.  I also have a couple families that call me randomly to babysit, which I did last Monday for an amazing family with adorable girls.  But I don't get out much, so that is a bummer.  I don't work on the weekend, unless someone asks me to babysit.  I was actually going to tomorrow but it got canceled, so I will hit the books instead.  I can do homework at work but I still need to get caught up a little.

Anyways, that is life for me so far.  Hopefully I will update again soon.  I miss you all!!  Hope you comment!!  And get facebook!!!  LOL!

Hey everyone!  So I don't know if anyone actually still exists in the world of xanga but I thought that I would give it a try!  School is going really good right now!  There is a ton of homework to be done though!!  Mostly reading, but it still takes up a ton of time!  I am super busy until tomorrow, but then I am home free until after spring break!!  I am so excited!  Spring break is March 8-16 and I am heading home to North Dakota!  I hope that I can see you all when I get home!  My best friend Michelle is coming with me.  I am so exited!  We are going to have so much fun.  Other than that, not much is going on now.  No boyfriends and no potential boyfriends.  But I think that I am ok with that, at least for now.  I am only a freshman, right?  I have been watching Anne of Green Gables though.  For all of you who have seen it, you will understand how I have this major crush on Gilbert Blythe!  If only he was a real person!  I would totally want to marry him!!  Oh well, someday...  Oh, there is another exciting thing that is going on.  I am planning on running a 15k this summer with my older sister, Kjirsten.  We are so excited about it!  I am training pretty hard right now.  I need to be able to catch up to her by July.  Yesterday I had the best workout!  I am starting to feel really good running again, not so tired anymore.  I forgot how much I love to run!!  It really helps me to relax and let loose and de-stress myself, which in college life I have discovered is sorely needed!!  Well, other than that, I don't think that there is anything exciting.  I am going to head to SAGA now to eat but I give my love to all!  I miss you all so much!  And hope that there is someone in the world who still checks this and has not discovered the wonders of facebook.  I will talk to you all soon!  Keep in touch please!  I miss you all too much not to keep in touch!

Love Heidi

Oh, my goodness!  I am updating again!  Someone pinch me!  This is crazy!  So, school is going ok.  This past week was a really hard one for me.  For one, I have been really sick since last Friday.  I am starting to get better now that I have been on meds since Monday but the past week and a half has been difficult.  But then, school has been getting more and more stressful.  Classes are really starting to get hectic and it's just been crazy.  And I have missed some classes because I've been sick so now I am semi-behind in my classes and it's just annoying!  Plus, I really miss having people here who kinda know about what happened when Peter died and what it was like.  I have told a few people but they don't really know how I was before and how it has impacted me since.  I can't really tell them how it was.  And it's hard because I still think about it everyday and cry a lot and don't really have anyone to get that comforting hug from.  That's what I miss the most, the hugs that I would get and how it would just remind me that people care.

Well, on a less depressing note, here are some things that have been happening in Chicago.  I went to the Wheaton College Swing Dance and that was amazing!  I now know how to somewhat dance and I can do the Charleston!  It's intense.  I can't even describe the fun that I had!  Pictures are on facebook and you should totally check them out!  I went home about two weeks ago for my brother's wedding so that was nice.  I definately needed the family time.  And it was an amazing wedding!  I was a bridesmaid along both of my sisters.  My niece and nephew were the flowergirl and ringbearer and they were sooo adorable.  Yet again, pictures are on facebook!  This is why you need a facebook Ryan!  It was sad when my sister walked up because she walked alone holding a flower in memory of Peter and that was really hard to watch.  But it was still a beautiful wedding.

This weekend has been amazing though!  After my sadness of calling Ryan and wishing him happy birthday and discovering that he was hanging with my sister, Jess, Rachael, and all of them and I wasn't there, I went to the swing dance and enjoyed myself immensely!  And then on Saturday Jeff, Laurie, Hannah, and Chip Duncan all came and picked me up and I spent Saturday and Sunday with them!  It was so nice to see them, especially since I have been so homesick.  That isn't really what it is but it's the only word I can think of.  So, I hung out with them and recieved those amazing hugs and not I am back in my dorm writing on my xanga wall rather than doing homework.  Such is the life of a college student but I needed some time just to not think and xanga came to mind!

Anyways, I miss you all and love you all soooo much!!

Hey to everyone still existing in the xanga world!

Wow, it has been ages since I last wrote on here!  I had abondoned it because I had no internet at home and facebook was so much easier!  However, I discovered some people still use this and well, it just seemed like I should somehow stay in communication with them!

So, what has been happening in my life since February?  Well, ALOT!  But just the main things.  I went to prom, graduated from high school in May, and now I attend Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois(which is a suburb of Chicago).  I LOVE the whole college life and scene!  It is soooo much fun!  However, lack of sleep is a downer, but hey, it's not like I'm dying from it!  I am majoring in elementary education and having a concentration field in history.

So far classes are ok and homework is not too bad.  I am making a ton of wonderful friends, both guys and girls, and so that is helping with the fact that I am like hundreds of miles away from everyone at home.  My roomate is amazing and we get along just fine.  She is a little more of a neat freak then me and is a morning person, which is sometimes annoying but we rarely bother each other.  It's also only fair that she annoy me in the morning since I probably annoy her with my late night antics!  Also, I joined IM Ultimate Frisbee on my brother floors team so we shall see how that one goes.

I really don't even know what else to say!  What did I used to talk about on this blogging site?  Mostly Peter as I recall and since that particular time in my life is over I got nothing!  Somebody give me a hint as to what to write about!

Oh, I did think of something else to tell you!  This summer, I sadly was unable to work at Cooperstown Bible Camp due to money problems and so I worked at a nursing home, which was fun but EXTREMELY hard.  But yea.  I did get to volunteer at CBC during Early Bird and for two days at the end of the summer which meant ALOT to me.  I also got to be there for senior high as a camper for the last night.  It was great seeing all of my friends that I love and miss so much.  Especially since it was a relatively hard summer.

Anyways, that's all I got for now!  I miss all of you and luv ya!

Heidi
